When I became the Director of Bluebird Christian Preschool, the preschool was in serious financial trouble, relying heavily on the host church's funding to remain operational. The church's financial officer informed me that the preschool needed to become financially independent or face closure. Needless to say, this was a daunting challenge but one that I was excited to accept. I undertook strategic restructuring, financial planning, and rebranding to ensure the continuation of a preschool that had been in the community since 1968.
Director Responsibilities:
Personnel Management: Personnel consists of 20 staff members: 19 teachers and 1 Administrative Assistant.Â
Instructional Management: Curriculum development that aligned with state and national standards.
Program Management: Establish and implement policies and procedures.
Child Management: Enrollment consists of approximately 120 students.
Business Management: Budget of approximately $150,000 to $190,000 per year.
Parent/Public Relations: Promotional material creation and organization of promotional events.
